Today I will…
Attack this day with enthusiasm.
Stay positive.
Be thankful.
Learn, improve and grow.
Be a blessing to others.

Growth occurs outside our comfort zone!
Be thankful for the obstacles/challenges (a.k.a learning opportunities) that push us toward growth!
Grow today!
Happy Tuesday

I hope your day today is FULL of love!
The best way to ensure that is going to happen?
Dispense a plethora of it upon others, I promise you will receive it back in doubles 🙂
Have a lovely Monday!

I love this from the book: Authentic Happiness (find it here on Amazon).
It is so true, that when others speak to us harshly or criticize us, we arm ourselves with retort to defend.
But when we speak that way to ourselves (which happens all the time), we fail to rebuke.
A friend, and fellow doctor said this once at a speech (I quoted him in my book, Purposely Positive: How to Live an Intentional and Inspired Life) “If you heard someone talking to your spouse the way you talk to yourself, you’d kick their ass.”-Dr. Brent Hendon.
Ain’t that the truth?
We constantly chide ourselves and hold ourselves down.
Constructive criticism is one thing, but change that “Con” to “De” and all we do is tear ourselves apart.
Start noticing the negative things you say to yourself, act as if someone else is saying them, and then prepare to fight back.
You are worthy!

We need both inspiration and motivation to fulfill our goals.
Inspiration is the coal-fire, slow burn, our “why” that fuels our drive.
Motivation on the other hand is like a bonfire, strong push to create a change quickly, to push us forward.
The key difference is that if we only focus on motivation, it will burn strong, but then burn out (new years resolutions are a great example of this fact).
We need the slow, steady burn of inspiration to fuel our motivational bursts to truly get us to where we want to go.
Burn on my friends!

This book is great!
I read this excerpt this morning and thought I should share. Many people have ideas of what can create happiness (better job, wealth, losing weight, health) but research shows that these events have little effect on lasting happiness.
The book discusses the fact that we are in fact, in control of our own happiness.
I highly recommend the book!

When we contribute, give, show compassion to others, we actually change our internal chemistry for the better.
The act of giving creates a ple thora of positive/feel good hormones to be released in our own bodies as well as in those of the receiver.
So when you give to others, you give to yourself 🙂
Happy Monday!

“YOU SHOULD NEVER GIVE UP THE BETTER THAT RESIDES WITHIN YOU FOR THE SECURITY YOU ALREADY HAVE.”- JORDAN PRESTON

Strive.
Reach.
Improve.
Be better.
Don’t let your current “comfort” hold back your better self.
We should always be grateful for where we are in life, but at the same time, we should push ourselves to improve… not just for our sakes, but for the betterment of the entire world :).
Have a terrific Tuesday!
