We need both inspiration and motivation to fulfill our goals.
Inspiration is the coal-fire, slow burn, our “why” that fuels our drive.
Motivation on the other hand is like a bonfire, strong push to create a change quickly, to push us forward.
The key difference is that if we only focus on motivation, it will burn strong, but then burn out (new years resolutions are a great example of this fact).
We need the slow, steady burn of inspiration to fuel our motivational bursts to truly get us to where we want to go.
Burn on my friends!

When we contribute, give, show compassion to others, we actually change our internal chemistry for the better.
The act of giving creates a ple thora of positive/feel good hormones to be released in our own bodies as well as in those of the receiver.
So when you give to others, you give to yourself 🙂
Happy Monday!

“Show up to give.”-Simon Sinek
It’s a bit ironic (not channeling Alanis Morissette, don’t worry) that the quickest route to happiness lies in helping others become happy? The direct route to receiving lies in giving?
Try to spread some joy today. Give love. Smile. Spread cheer.
And be awed with the exponential amount of all the above you receive 🙂
Happy Thursday!

Always tend to your roots. The fruit will come, but the foundations of growth start much deeper.
Your character drives your future.
Work on maintaining your best self in order to reach dreams that take your breath away.
Dream big. But focus on what allows those dreams to come true (work, ethics, passion, purpose, integrity, compassion).
Happy Monday!

Thank you, Ashley for sharing this with our team today!
In order to grow, we need to challenge ourselves!!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

This morning I was reminded that last Tuesday was Suicide Prevention Day.
I was sitting at the table enjoying my breakfast after the kids and Sheri had gone to school.
In my Facebook feed there was a link to donate in memory of my cousin who took his own life earlier this year.
Another acquaintance from high school was asking for prayers because they were going through a really tough time right now.
A couple that Sheri and I are friends with are going through a divorce.
Someone else posted a video of a beautiful rendition of “Shallow” by Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper (done by a choir in Ireland).
Such a powerful song. And an even more powerful movie (A Star Is Born).
It made me think:
Life is hard.
Everyone is fighting battles that we cannot see.
Depression, anxiety, struggle, are all quite common in today’s world.
Everyday life can be challenging.
Being a parent is hard too. Raising kids is not easy, they need us so much as newborns (which is hard), and as they grow their reliance lessens/shifts. That is hard to adapt to as well.
Everywhere you look, people are working hard to provide for their families, they are fighting their internal demons, they are working to improve their own lives and the lives of others…
Not a single face you see is coasting through their life.
No one is lying back in the shallows, floating through life.
I know whomever is reading this is facing strife and struggle in their lives.
So, today (and hopefully everyday) share compassion. Give kindness to others. Try to make whatever interaction you have with all these beautiful, struggling faces a positive one. Even the simplest things can help lessen their (and your own) burden.
Connect. Serve. Love. Smile. Share.
Realize that not a single Pearson’s life is “shallow”, everyone is swimming “in the deep end.”
Thank you for reading, and God Bless.

9.11.01
Never forget.
Never forget all the souls this world lost.
So many futures, erased.
2,977 people perished.
Today, pay homage to all the brave souls who in the face of danger, had the courage to risk their lives trying to save strangers.
We can honor them by showing courage in our lives.
We may not be called to run into a burning building or pull victims from rubble.
However, the root word of courage is cor which is Latin for heart.
We can show courage in our lives by leading with our heart.
Love more today.
Lead with your heart and share it with others.
Be significant in the lives of others. You never know who desperately needs your smile, your compassion, your love.

Too often, we dim our lights behind the guise of humility. But in reality, that is selfishness.
Do not be boastful, but share your light so that you may illuminate the world.
We NEED your light!
I hope you light up your day!

A few snippets of a poem by Kim Mcmillen:
As I began to love myself
I quit trying to always be right,
and ever since I was wrong less of the time. Today I discovered that is Modesty.
As I began to love myself
I refused to go on living in the past
and worrying about the future.
Now, I only live for the moment,
where everything is happening.
Today I live each day, day by day, and I call it Fulfillment.
As I began to love myself
I recognized that my mind can disturb me and it can make me sick.
But as I connected it to my heart,
my mind became a valuable ally.
Today I call this connection Wisdom of the Heart.

Have an amazing day!
