Greatest weakness

“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up-The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.”-Thomas Edison

He knows what he is talking about. The fabled inventor of the light bulb attempted over 1,000 variants before he got it right- and changed the world.  You never know when your breakthrough will happen. However, you will always know when you break-and that is when you quit.

Have an awesome day!

Stepping or running forward

Sometimes your life can feel like this

Other times it can feel like you are flying through it, gaining progress at break neck speed..

The key isn’t the pace, but the consistency of stride. And the passion you attach to either scenario. We need to love the process, love the steps forward no matter if we gain a lot of ground with each movement. Love yourself a d the process unconditionally!

Have a lovely day!!

Imaginary friends

Worry and hope are two sides of the same coin. Both are beliefs about things that have not happened yet. We can choose which one of those friends we want to hang out with. Why not choose the one that uplifts our spirits, normalizes blood pressure, sends out positive vibes to those around us, and helps release oxytocin and dopamine so we actually feel better? It’s always our choice 🙂

Superpowers to Mastery

“We know from myths and fairy-tales that there are many different powers in this world. One child is given a light saber, another a wizards education. The trick is not to amass all the different kinds of power, but to use well the kind you’ve been granted.”-Susan Cain

superpowers

We all have superpowers. Yours could be writing, making people laugh/smile, inspiring others, being an amazing mother/father/brother/sister… The key is to find you powers and amplify them! Bring those superpowers into mastery.

“In the end, mastery involves discovering the most resonant information and integrating it so deeply it fully allows you to fly free.”-Josh Waitzkin

These inspirational quotes were found in Catalyst by Josh McLean.  A book definitely worth a read!

From Knowledge to Wisdom

To attain knowledge, add things everyday. To attain wisdom, remove things every day.

-Lao Tse

wisdom

We are always learning.

We live in a world where so much knowledge is at our fingertips (quite literally).

It isn’t hard to do an internet search and find the answer to almost any question we can come up with.

Access to information is not a problem.

They key to true learning and growth is wisdom.

We need to unlearn what isn’t serving us.

We need to take the knowledge we have and apply it so it becomes part of who we are.

We also need to do a brain-dump every now and then. Figure out what you no longer need in your life and cut it out.

Work on learning, definitely.

But also focus on turning knowledge into wisdom in order to create a brighter future.

Greatness of character

“The inside out approach says if you want to have a happy marriage, be the kind of person who generates positive energy and sidesteps negative energy rather than empowering it. If you want to have a more pleasant, cooperative teenager, be a more understanding, empathetic, consistent, loving parent. If you want to have more freedom, more latitude in your job, be a more responsible, and more helpful, and more contributing employee. If you want to be trusted, be trustworthy. If you want to secondary greatness of recognize talent, focus first on the primary greatness of character”-Steven R. Covey “The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People”
