Creativity is right brained too…
Point: Attach joy to the creating/growth/improving, joy is the process.
Happiness is the logic/results.
Nothing wrong with being happy when we accomplish something. But when we can focus on the joy of the process, we will create a lasting positive impact and longer lasting happiness (because the process never ends and if we are joyful in it, we won’t run low on our “supply”)
I loooooove this talk (and the book) by Simon Sinek. Your why is what drives everything else you do (not just as a company, but as a human being). Start with your Why today!
My father told me that I could do anything
Don’t know why I don’t believe in, myself
My fears, they permeate the walls that I’ve made, with my hate
It’s getting harder to see it
But I know, do what is right, fight for the truth
Say something to them that means something to you
Invest in the love, hope for the best
Follow what’s in the left side of your chest
Be ready for highs, be ready for lows
A dream is a dream until you go
Through the mistakes, you’ll find who you are
Don’t reach for the moon when you’re going to Mars
We’re going to Mars
‘Cause we can do anything we want
We can do anything, it’s who we are
We can do anything
We’re going to Mars
Our legs are more than just finding ways to get through the hump
Wanting more than just breathing
My mother told me that I could do, anything and
I think I’m starting to see it
But I know forget the lies, remember the truth
Sing something to them that means something to you
Invest in the love, give it your best
Follow what’s in the left side of your chest
Be ready for highs, be ready for lows
Dream is a dream until you go
Make some mistakes, don’t forget who you are
Don’t reach for the moon when you’re going to Mars
We’re going to Mars
‘Cause we can do anything we want
We can do anything, it’s who we are
We can do anything
We’re going to Mars
At a construction site in the Midwest, all the workers would sit down together for lunch. Every day Brian would open his lunch pail and complain. “Son if a gun, not pb&j again! I hate peanut butter and jelly!”
He whines about his peanut butter and jelly everyday until finally one day another worker said “for cripes sakes Brian, if you hate pb&j have your wife make you something different!”
Brian said “what do you mean, wife? I’m not married. I make my own sanwhiches.”
Our lives are created by us :-). Complaints usually hold no merit. Get busy forging the life we want and forget about bitching about “sandwiches”

A great thing to do throughout your day, take a moment to say to yourself “I am doing the best I can in this moment, and I also know I can do better :).” (Adapted from The Miracle Morning book)
Be happy in the now with big dreams of the future.
Also know that NOONE can do exactly what you do, because it is utterly true, there is only one of you. (That sounded a little Dr. Seuss-ish, you can throw a fuzzle wuzzle in there for good measure.)
