Sounds like someone I’d like to be today 🙂

“If you’re not making someone else’s life better, then you are wasting your time. Your life will become better by making other lives better.”-Will Smith

“But it’s not the external voice that will break you down. It’s what you tell yourself that matters…we are all our own worst haters and doubters because doubt is a natural reaction to any bold attempt to change your life for the better.”-David Groggins
We don’t consciously berate ourselves, but it does happen quite passively. If we are not arming ourselves with positive self-talk, the negative voices run the roost. We need to arm ourselves. Ask yourself some questions in the morning: who needs my A game today? Why am I the best doctor/baker/flight attendant for those I get to serve? How do I show I am a compassionate person daily? The great thing about these questions is they beg a positive answer :-).

In a short meditation this morning, the speaker discussed the act of receiving.
It got me thinking a bit.
We are all pretty good at receiving things everyday.
We receive the breaths our body takes. We receive the sunlight on our face, the coffee into our mouths.
However, many of us are not adept at receiving others’ praise and thanks.
We push it off “No problem.” “It was nothing.”
Instead of actually receiving their “Thank you” and saying “You are very welcome.”
When we push it off, we may think we are being humble, but in fact we are denying them the ability to give their gift of thanks to us.
We are taking that gift and throwing it into the fire.
Be cognizant of accepting (graciously) the gratitude of others. Give them the gift of acceptance.
Thank you!

What an awesome video! Thank you for sharing Ashley!
Love is about serving, caring, connecting.
Love everyone you come in contact today!
We all could use a bit more love 🙂

I love this! Such a powerful reminder that no matter what, we have options and it’s the decisions of what we do with the “cards we are dealt” that determines our day, week, month, life…not the cards themselves.

I loved this blog by The Dragontree (full link below). It emphasized the importance of true connection. Some of my favorite snippets:
“I now believe that subtle healing techniques often succeed where others fail, because there’s less potential for the recipient’s mind or body to object to the intervention, less potential to exacerbate an existing condition, plus an opportunity to “slip under the radar” and initiate a deeper healing.”
-That is precisely why I employ a gentle technique in my office.
Another great snippet: “We all know that “time is money” because there is a finite amount of it in the workday. But attention (or presence) is even more precious. How often do you feel that you have someone’s complete, undivided attention?”
The blog goes on to say that there is tremendous power in the thought of “I am here for you.” You can think it when you are with a good friend, child, or spouse and notice a deeper connection. You can also think it to yourself during some meditation/self-love time.
Powerful stuff!

“To be truly human, we have to live at the intersection of our head (skills), our heart (passions) and hands (service). It’s a beautiful reminder that you’ll find your zone of genius when you connect to what you’re passionate about, identify the needs associated with it, and bring your skills to meet the task in the best way possible.”
