Flip it

I am currently reading “The High 5 Habit” by Mel Robbins.

Great book.

I love this section on how to actually use jealousy to your advantage.

Comparison can steal your joy, for sure, but only if you have limiting beliefs and do not grasp abundance.

We can look at things/emotions/places/successes others have and decide we can’t have them too bc they already have them, or we can decide that the universe is infinite, and the fact they have them is PROOF we can too!

It’s ALWAYS your decision(s).

So next time that little voice pops up when you feel the pang of jealousy, FLIP IT into the realization that we can achieve all that and more.

Happy Tuesday!

The Most Powerful Forces

This book is about celebrating one’s’ self.

Sounds a bit funny, right?

Well, the truth is we humans are great at celebrating and lifting others up, but if we fail to do so for ourselves, we will run our tanks empty pretty quick.

When we take the time to celebrate not only our achievements, but who we are at this very moment, we set the stage for magic to happen.

When you congratulate yourself for a life well loved thus far, you create a plethora of chemical and emotional responses that allow further growth and happiness to take place.

So start with a high five in the mirror. Read this book. Then start loving who you are so you can love others, and move forward in becoming who you want to be!

Happy Tuesday everyone,

High fives! 🙌

You should definitely check out The Ed Mylett podcast and Mel Robbins book: The High Give Habit

There is power (and research) in celebrating small victories, congratulating ourselves, and setting intention.

One thing the book and this podcast episode touches on is the fact that, unfortunately, we are prone to feeling unworthy of celebration. In fact we are prone to feeling unworthy in general.

We can raise that baseline simply by incorporating small celebrations and acknowledgements of our amazing worthy-ness into our daily lives.

We all deserve love. And we definitely deserve to love ourselves.

We have survived every crazy challenge that has been put before us to this point.

We have overcome many obstacles.

We do A LOT of things l, very well, every day.

We impact lives (whether we know it or not).

We have style.

We have grace.

We smile, we laugh, we love, we help, we even provide energy for others (including nature).

We are amazing.

Listen ti the podcast, read the book, and HIGH FIVE yourselves today!

Happy Tuesday

Your mind matters

This is a snapshot from: It Takes What it Takes by Trevor Moawad

I really like the book and I thought this was powerful.

Your thoughts exert incredible influence in your daily life.

Sometimes you can’t control your thoughts, negative things, judgmental thoughts, etc will pop up. However, you can decide how much emphasis to place in those thoughts and you can always re-frame the next thought as a rebuttal to the negative.

You can always decide to focus on the positives in your current reality instead of false negatives.

You are the captain of your ship and you can choose to steer wisely, toward a more positive future.

Happy sailing!

Have a fantastic day!

Profit < Trust

I love this tidbit from Simon Sinek.

The awesome thing is (for the most part) if we focus on why we do what we do, we gain the trust of the people we serve.

When we gain trust, profit will become a de facto result.

The key is to focus on why, and do what we do out of service mentality.

The money is always secondary and will come when we focus on the truly important things.

Happy Tuesday!

What stands in the way becomes the way

This picture was taken from:

I like the book so far. The premise is that the most successful people, realize that obstacles are actually opportunities in disguise.

We have big dreams, but the road from where we are now to where we want to go is littered with obstacles.

We need to realize that these obstacles don’t block our path; in fact they are important parts of the path.

We cannot grow unless we climb.

The trials and tribulations between here and there are in fact NECESSARY for us to achieve our dreams.

When we are faced with a problem, we need to change our thinking from “why me?” Or “why this?” To “How can I grow from this?” Or “how can this challenge help me?”

Don’t run from problems, don’t turn around the moment you have something blocking your path. In fact the path you must travel is directly over that obstacle.

Have a growth-filled, amazing Monday!

Mindset

Your mindset determines your life.

Situations will always arise, positive and negative. The situations don’t determine the outcome.

The choices you make, the way you decide to learn from every situation, your mindset ALWAYS determines the outcome, and not just in the short term. The long term effects of any situation are solely determined by what you decide to take from it.

So today, start with a positive mindset.

Be open to learning opportunities (aka struggles).

Choose your path wisely.

And have an amazing Thursday!

The Power of Positive Summit

So, if you’ve read anything I’ve ever written, you probably know I’m a believer in finding the positive, and that positivity is a choice.

That’s why I LOVE what Jon Gordon and his team put together once a year.

Check it out here: https://www.powerofpositivesummit.com

There are a lot of bite-sized inspirational talks, given by people from all walks of life (coaches, speakers, charity founders, teachers) and they are wonderful.

Some of my favorite quotes so far:

“You don’t choose your negative thoughts but you can choose not to listen to them”-Jay Glazer

“The best way to win the day is to win the moment. Moments turn into days, days into weeks and weeks into years.”-Doshia Woods

“Unshakeable confidence isn’t about the results. It’s about self awareness.”-David Nurse

“It’s not always the path of least resistance that gets you where you want to go, it’s the path that’s worth taking”-Sam Acho

“When we focus on honoring others as our mission in life, differences fade. Prejudice becomes a foreign concept.”- Miles McPherson

There are a LOT more. You should definitely check it out.

You most likely will find something there to help fuel you daily, and I guarantee it will make your Tuesday a little happier!

Growth not accolades

In his book, The Infinite Game, Simon Sinek discusses the ideas of constant improvement.

Too often, businesses (and individuals) look at this constant improvement in the form of procedures, policies, accolades, awards, etc.

There is absolutely nothing wrong woth all of that.

However, the true idea of constant improvement should come in the forms of improving teamwork, mindset, skills, connection with others, compassion and leadership.

These traits are more important because they drive us to create a better now, and to leave a better legacy fo the sake of our family, friends, customers, loved ones and communities. The accolades are achieved as a result of these things.

The great (and sometimes frustrating, depending on how you choose to look at it) thing about these intrinsic improvements (as opposed to accolades and awards) is that there is no “finish line.” The goal is to constantly improve, not to “arrive.”

So today, envision your life improving for the sake of improvement and any awards, goals or et cetera are just mile markers along the infinite game of life.

Have an amazing Tuesday!
