Plethora of Positivity

I did not post the past couple days, so here is our conglomerate of inspiration for Wednesday!

“The comfort zone is the great enemy to creativity; moving beyond it necessitates intuition, which in turn configures new perspectives and conquers fears.”-Dan Stevens

“Success can only be one ingredient in happiness, and it is too dearly purchased if all the other ingredients have been sacrificed to obtain it.”-Bertrand Russell

Connection time

Payton, our oldest son, is on a trip with his grandparents, so we had some quality Isaac time this weekend. We went on quite a few walks, rode the rides at Elitches (and Isaac did all the thrill rides, overcoming his fears), grilled fajitas, and played some games (Isaac beat us at Catan). I am thankful for my family and I am grateful for the time I get to spend with my boys, together and separate.

Happiness-as stated by the Bassoon King-Rainn Wilson

“Happiness is not something “just around the corner” or “over the hill” or something that can be enjoyed as soon as you have a certain level of material comfort. It’s a moment-to-moment choice. Joy and contentment come from daily, hourly, minutely, secondly decisions to be grateful for what you have. With every breath. Savoring every moment. Focusing on the good. On service to others. On the sacred, whatever that word means to you. Happy?”

Joy–>Happiness

Joy is right brained, happiness is left brained.

Joy feeds happiness.

Creativity is right brained too…
Point: Attach joy to the creating/growth/improving, joy is the process.
Happiness is the logic/results.
Nothing wrong with being happy when we accomplish something. But when we can focus on the joy of the process, we will create a lasting positive impact and longer lasting happiness (because the process never ends and if we are joyful in it, we won’t run low on our “supply”)

Be joyful today!!
