UKNOWN IMPACT

Thank you to Jessica, my amazing office manager for sharing this today.

The truth is you NEVER know how much of an impact you make on someone’s life.

Another truth: usually the little things make a much BIGGER impact than you think they will.

Don’t for a second, make the grave mistake of thinking that the little things you can do for others will not add up to a larger impact.

Your smile, your kind words, your compassion MATTER WAAAAAAAY more than you will ever measure.

Have fun making a positive impact today!

Happy Wednesday!

The dance of life

Success in life is a bumpy slope.

It is full of ups and downs (just like life in general).

The key is to realize a “step backwards” isn’t a failure.

It’s necessary.

Diving boards have to dip before you can launch.

You have to fall down in order to get up.

You need to have those bike pedals crack you in the shin every once in a while in order to learn to be a bit more careful with those nasty things.

The point is, you can look at dips any way you want, but the truly successful people realize that the set-backs are actually just ways to change the narrative in order to create a truly successful story.

Don’t let the steps back stop you from dancing to success.

Happy Tuesday!

Listen to improve

I love what Jon Gordon is conveying here.

I believe, too often, we (myself included) have a tendency to listen to others in order to respond.

We really should listen to learn.

It is harder than it sounds.

In order to listen to learn, we must be connected, intentionally hearing what others have to say. We must also silence our thoughts as they naturally attempt to formulate a rebuttal or an application to ourselves.

When we truly “lend an ear” to those we are with, we grow in compassion, connection and improve.

Happy listening today!

Happy Monday

Destination Addiction?

Until I saw this post, I have never heard of the term “destination addiction.”

However, I definitely knew it existed.

So many people “search” for happiness.

We humans tend to think that the next big job, the next big move, the next big date, the next big meal, the next WHATEVAHS will bring us happiness.

We are, essentially, little kids asking our father “When we will get there? (or “Are we there yet?)” Thinking that happiness will arrive “just over the next hill.”

The truth is that we will NEVER arrive at happiness.

We must choose to be happy now, or at least to find slivers of happiness amidst our suffering (if that is our current state).

Nothing brings happiness to us.

We DECIDE to find happiness in the now. Then we can cultivate that seed of happiness and it will continue to grow.

Don’t try to ARRIVE at happiness.

DRIVE with happiness, today!

Happy Tuesday!

LEAD

You may have a “title” that infers leadership.

Manager, Shift-lead, Owner, President, Teacher, etc…

You also may not have such a title.

The title doesn’t make the leader.

Anyone can (and should) lead.

The world sorely needs people to lead with grace, courage, love, empathy, compassion, integrity, inspiration, and by example.

I (like MANY others) would gladly step in to follow people that embody the above virtues.

So, don’t look around for someone to do so.

Don’t wait until some magical title is bestowed upon you.

BE a leader by being your best self.

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Don’t be the center

“Don’t be the center of attention at your office.”-Dr Greg Howard

This was said at the wonderful zoomcast conference this past weekend. Dr. Howard was bringing the point home that even though we run our chiropractic offices, we should not be the center of attention.

This can be applied to any job/position.

True leaders earn their position as a leader by focusing on the people they serve.

You can be given a title of “leader” by virtue of a job description, but people will not truly follow you unless you first put them in the forefront of your interests.

The world is full of powerful people.

They are not necessarily considered leaders.

In large corporations, there are CEOs, CFOs, Vice Presidents, etc. There are also an innumerable amount of leaders on every floor, in every group and in al situations.

Strive to lead others, by putting yourself second.

If we all focused on helping others, focused the groups we get to help (lead), I promise we all would be better off.

Lead strong (by loving others) today!

Happy Wednesday!

Drive the culture!

I love this from Jon Gordon.

If you are a leader of any type (odds are you are in some fashion), your number one job is to drive the culture of those that you lead.

You do this by modeling what you want to accomplish, by listening, by being compassionate.

Lead on my friends!
