Inspiration or motivation?

We need both inspiration and motivation to fulfill our goals.

Inspiration is the coal-fire, slow burn, our “why” that fuels our drive.

Motivation on the other hand is like a bonfire, strong push to create a change quickly, to push us forward.

The key difference is that if we only focus on motivation, it will burn strong, but then burn out (new years resolutions are a great example of this fact).

We need the slow, steady burn of inspiration to fuel our motivational bursts to truly get us to where we want to go.

What CREATES Happiness?

This book is great!

I read this excerpt this morning and thought I should share. Many people have ideas of what can create happiness (better job, wealth, losing weight, health) but research shows that these events have little effect on lasting happiness.

The book discusses the fact that we are in fact, in control of our own happiness.

I highly recommend the book!

Contribute to your happiness by contributing to others

When we contribute, give, show compassion to others, we actually change our internal chemistry for the better.

The act of giving creates a ple thora of positive/feel good hormones to be released in our own bodies as well as in those of the receiver.

So when you give to others, you give to yourself 🙂

Happy Monday!

P.S. If you would like some more inspiration, check out my book “Purposely Positive: How to Live an Intentional and Inspired Life” on Amazon 😀

Show up

“Show up to give.”-Simon Sinek

It’s a bit ironic (not channeling Alanis Morissette, don’t worry) that the quickest route to happiness lies in helping others become happy? The direct route to receiving lies in giving?

Try to spread some joy today. Give love. Smile. Spread cheer.

And be awed with the exponential amount of all the above you receive 🙂

Happy Thursday!

Be happy, Spread happy :-)

I love this from the book “Never Lose a Customer Again” by Joey Coleman.

This can be applied to all walks of life, however.

When we try to create remarkable experiences (in our jobs, at the grocery store, to our neighbors, etc) we increase our own happiness and spread joy to others.

We always have a way to make any situation just a little bit happier.

Choose happy, be happy, spread happy 🙂

Happy Monday!

Thank you Ashley for sharing this today!

We are in the midst of a lot of changes…

A change of seasons, a change of weather, a change of schedules (full bore into school/sports, etc), a change of procedures at work, etc.

Change is truly the only constant in life.

In order to become our ideal selves, to live our ideal lives, to have the biggest impact on our world, we must embrace change and in fact, we must look to create change.

Nothing improves by complacency.

Embrace all the changes around you, because within change lies infinite possibilities!

Get changin’!
Happy Wednesday!
