Getting uncomfortable to be comfy

“Happiness can be defined, in part at least, as the fruit of the desire and ability to sacrifice what we want now for what we want eventually”-Stephen R Covey

I’m sure we’ve all heard a variation of the above. The thought/truth that growth requires stepping out of ones comfort zone.

In all things. In order to grow we need to be willing to stretch.

And if you’ve ever taken the time to stretch your hamstrings, you know the beginning isn’t what one would call “comfortable.”

But in order for that all-important muscle to lengthen, we need to sit through some of that discomfort.

The same holds true for life. Growing as a person, making an upward move in your job, learning to be a better parent, Doctor or pastry chef requires stepping out from what we know now in order to become what we can be.

Happy stretching 🙂

Take action on your goals

makeithappen

Jessica, (Chiropractic Office Manager Extraordinnaire) brought this to our meeting today! It was a great blog post about following your dreams.

“When we set goals, we take responsibility for our lives and choose to wholeheartedly devote ourselves to our aspirations. Even if we only take the smallest steps toward achieving our ambitions, it is vital that we actively pursue our goals rather than just daydreaming about them.”

Goals are so important! Even more important is taking action steps toward achieving them! There is nothing wrong with a pipe dream, as long as you get busy laying some pipe 😛

Paradox of Intention

This is a great video! I love the simple concept that is so VITAL to success and fulfillment. We must be happy in the now and have big dreams of the future. It is so easy to get skewed one way or the other, i.e big dreams of the future/big vision, but not happy now, or to be content now and forget to have big vision. This is great!
